When a distress call alerted rescuers to a dog barely surviving near a busy highway, they knew they had to respond quickly.
What awaited them was a scene more heart-wrenching than they anticipated.

Upon arrival, the rescuers were taken aback by the dog’s condition. Emaciated to the point where every bone was visible, the dog was nearly hairless and too weak to stand on his own.
The only shelter he had found was under a small billboard, offering him scant protection from the harsh elements. It was evident that he had been alone for an extended period, enduring the struggle to survive without assistance.

A rescuer gently lifted the frail dog into a kennel, overwhelmed with compassion and moved to tears by the thought of his solitary ordeal. They rushed him to the nearest veterinary clinic, hopeful for his recovery.
The sight of the dog stunned the veterinarians as well. After a thorough examination, they diagnosed him with scabies, parasite infestation, severe malnutrition, and dehydration. Despite these challenges, the team was optimistic about his chance of recovery.

Naming him Lancris, the veterinarians devised a strict feeding regimen. He was nourished with several small meals throughout the day to build his strength gradually before proceeding to more substantial portions.
With appropriate treatment and care, the vets assured that Lancris would recover. He was then entrusted to the devoted rescuer, committed to nursing him back to health.

Now safe in a compassionate home, Lancris embarked on his road to recovery. His caretaker diligently treated his skin to ensure his fur grew back healthy and strong.
Initially, Lancris was too weak to move, but with his caretaker’s encouragement, he found his strength. Within ten days, he progressed from walking to running, marking a significant step in his recovery journey.

Though Lancris’s healing process continues, he has already made remarkable strides. With the unwavering support of his rescuer, Lancris is set to enjoy a future filled with love, safety, and the freedom to explore the world as he always should have.
