A heartbreaking discovery was made during an eviction carried out by the Sheriff’s Department when they found a dog in desperate need of care at the property. This poor dog had endured years of neglect, tethered to a rope around its neck, leaving it vulnerable to extreme weather and suffering.
The dog’s condition was alarming. Severely underweight at just 35 pounds compared to a healthy 70, it was covered in dried blood and fleas, with painfully clogged ears. The weak animal could barely stand or walk and showed signs of pale gums and bloody urination.

Medical examinations uncovered several health problems. The dog, now affectionately named Justice, was diagnosed with heartworm, severe anemia, a high white blood cell count, low protein levels, high potassium, and a severe urinary tract infection.
Amidst these challenges, Justice displayed incredible resilience. Despite his plight, he still managed to wag his tail, showing a glimmer of hope.

There have been promising developments recently in Justice’s recovery journey. He took a significant step forward by going for a short walk, managing to stand and move for about 10 minutes, although he still trembled slightly. His joyful spirit is emerging as he begins to enjoy life again, particularly with his newfound love for playing with stuffed animals.
Justice is now on the road to recovery and searching for a forever home. For those looking to welcome a brave companion who has triumphed over tremendous adversity, Justice could be the perfect addition to your family.
