Upon arriving at the veterinary clinic, we stumbled upon a small dog in a critical condition, lying defenseless on the floor. The circumstances behind his condition were unknown, as whoever was responsible had disappeared.
Determined to help, we swiftly took action to provide the urgent care this little dog needed. We named him Merve and committed ourselves to his recovery.
As we began treatment, we were alarmed by the extent of his injuries. Merve’s skin was severely damaged, and he had a broken neck that required careful stitching. Additionally, there was a considerable open wound on his leg. Our team meticulously cleaned and sutured these wounds to ward off any infections. To our delight, Merve responded well to the treatment, showing signs of happiness and a healthy appetite.
Despite his small stature, Merve demonstrated an incredible fighting spirit. Over the weeks that followed, his skin began to recover, and slowly, soft fur started to cover his injuries, bringing back some of his endearing appearance.
Because of prolonged inactivity, Merve’s legs had weakened, creating difficulty in walking. However, our dedication to his recovery was unwavering. We implemented various strategies to encourage him to walk again, and day by day, his improvement was evident. After nearly two months, Merve was able to walk independently, albeit with some unsteadiness.
Seeing Merve walk on his own and play with other dogs filled us with joy. Our hope is that in the future, such suffering for dogs can be avoided, sparing them and their caregivers from facing such challenges.
