Clarence, a sweet and affectionate 4-year-old rescue dog, believes in treating others with the same kindness he wishes to receive. This is why he showers everyone he meets with hugs and clings to his caretakers, hoping they will never leave him.
This lovable golden retriever mix was found alongside a German shepherd and a Chihuahua mix after they were abandoned. Clarence decided to stick with his newfound friends.
Eventually, animal control captured Clarence and the German shepherd, reaching out to their owner, who sadly chose not to reclaim them.

Once on the brink of euthanasia, Clarence’s life took a turn for the better when Hounds In Pounds stepped in just in time to rescue both dogs and find them loving homes.
Despite his rough beginnings, Clarence remains a kind and forgiving soul, holding no grudges against people. His heart is open to all, including other dogs, cats, and children.
“He is really an angel,” said Cat Suzuki, founder of Hounds In Pounds, in an interview with The Dodo. Clarence just wants to be close to someone, earning him the endearing nickname, “What a mush this puppy is.”

Soon, Clarence will make the journey from Georgia to New Jersey, where his quest for a forever home will begin.
Those who have had the pleasure of knowing him are confident that this charming dog will bring happiness to whichever family has the fortune to adopt him.
Suzuki believes that Clarence would thrive in a home where people are often present. “He’s quite lethargic, so a movie buddy or snuggling partner would be excellent,” she shared.

As Clarence eagerly awaits the next chapter of his life, he hopes to give his future family the same warm embraces he so lovingly offers, finally receiving one in return.
